What happens after I complete the eligibility quiz?

If you are eligible to participate in the Fridays program, you will have the option to schedule a prescription fill with a video visit or, depending on the state, schedule a prescription fill without a video visit.

Once you select your prescription fill type, you will be asked to sign up for one of our monthly subscription services. Once paid, you will be prompted to create a password for your account. Note: your username is the email address you signed up with. You're almost done! The last step after creating your password is to complete your initial health history intake form—this can be accessed by selecting "Next" after creating your password. You will also receive an email if you haven't completed your health history intake form and can complete it by logging into the portal: app.joinfridays.com. Please be sure to complete this at your earliest convenience to avoid any delays in your treatment plan.

During your first appointment, your provider will discuss your health goals, review your medical history, order any necessary lab tests, and may order a prescription medication if deemed appropriate. Your provider will collaborate with you to create a personalized health plan. Alongside lifestyle recommendations, your care plan may include a prescription for weight loss medication.

Upon starting a weight loss medication, regular check-ins with your provider can be scheduled. The frequency of these visits can vary, but usually are once a month in the beginning. During these check-ins, the provider will evaluate your progress in weight loss, monitor your medication tolerance, arrange follow-up lab tests or prescription refills, and adjust your care plan as necessary.

How much weight can I expect to lose with a GLP-1 medication?

Weight loss outcomes can differ based on factors such as your initial weight, medical conditions, lifestyle adjustments, and the specific weight loss medication used. Numerous individuals who have taken GLP-1 medications for a duration of 68 weeks or more have reported achieving weight reductions of up to 15% from their initial body weight, when combined with healthy lifestyle choices. However, newer medications that are both GLP-1 and GIP agonists have shown an average weight reduction of 20%.

Who qualifies for weight loss medications?

While prescriptions for weight loss medication cannot be guaranteed for every patient, if you are 18 years of age or older and meet specific criteria such as weight and certain associated health conditions, your healthcare provider may consider you eligible for a prescription. Generally speaking, those who qualify are: individuals with overweight (BMI > 27) or obesity (BMI > 30) and those who are seeking maintenance therapy that have a BMI > 22 and if their current BMI < 27, have a history of obesity or overweight and have previously been on a GLP-1 within the past 12 months.

How old do I have to be to participate in the fridays program?

At this time, patients have to be at least 18 years old to participate in the program.

What is the cost of the weight loss program?

Fridays offers three subscription types, all of which include comprehensive coaching and services with no hidden fees, membership costs, or lab charges. Each plan provides regular virtual consultations with a clinician, prescription management and renewals (if applicable), support with insurance coverage for medications, and access to 1:1 nutritionist coaching, ongoing chat support, and health guides.

Subscription charges may appear on your credit card as "Fridays" "Fridays Health" or "OpenLoop Healthcare Partners."

Brand name medication pricing is based on insurance coverage.

Your clinical care team will work with you to identify the most affordable and suitable medication based on your health requirements and insurance coverage. GLP-1 prescriptions are usually more cost-effective when covered by insurance, but the exact expense will depend on your insurance plan. If you are uninsured, underinsured, or if the medication is not covered by your insurance, your provider may assist you in finding a prescription discount card or an alternative medication that is more cost effective.

If insurance or discount cards cannot be applied, the cost of GLP-1 prescription medications may range from $900 to $1,400 per month for branded options. Alternatively, compounded Semaglutide is available for $249/month (all doses), and compounded Tirzepatide for $359/month (all doses). The prices for compounded medications are all-inclusive, with no additional fees.

Please note that Fridays does not directly sell GLP-1's or other medications, and you can fill your prescriptions at the pharmacy of your choice.
